After the lake was renamed by executive order, the U.S. Geographic Names Information System was updated and Google followed its standard practice of matching official government sources. As of August 30 Google Maps labels the lake Lake America for users in the United States. In Canada it still reads Lake Ontario, and everywhere else both names appear together — the same treatment Google gives other bodies of water with more than one official name.

So the label now depends on where you are standing. This patch is the U.S. edition: the full lake die-cut to its own shoreline, fourteen coastal cities marked, and the name across the middle.
