Chiricahua is about to become the 64th U.S. national park. The bill passed the House in March and cleared the Senate by unanimous consent on 30 September 2026. It now goes to the President for signature. The badge is struck EST. 2026 for the year of that designation — until the signing, Chiricahua remains the national monument it has been since 1924.
