The Hat Factory Xpress® — Pop-Up Hat Bar for Events
A high-end hat bar that comes to you. Your guests pick a hat, pick a design, and watch it made on the spot — a finished, custom piece in their hands before they leave.
"Pick your hat, pick your logo, or send us a photo, pick your side patches, add a rope."

What is a hat bar?
It is a mobile store. We bring the equipment, the blanks and the people to your venue and set up a working custom-hat shop for the length of your event.
Guests do not choose from a tray of pre-made options. They choose a cap from the wall, choose or supply a design, add side patches and a rope if they want one, and we make it while they wait. The hat they walk out with did not exist when they walked in.
That is the difference between a hat bar and a merch table, and it is why it works as entertainment rather than as a giveaway. People stay, they watch the press, they come back with an idea for a second one.
We are a woman-owned studio in Avon Lake, Ohio — just west of Cleveland, part of Greater Cleveland. Making since 2017 — The Hat Factory Xpress® since 2024.
What does a hat bar cost?
Two ways to run it. Which one suits you depends on whether you want every guest to have a hat, or a set number of hats given out on your terms.
- Base — a limited open hat bar. You set the guest quantity and we work to it. About $35 per person.
- Premium — a fully open hat bar. Every guest has the run of the wall for the length of the event. Premium is built around what your event needs rather than sold as a fixed package — tell us what you have in mind and we will quote it.
Every quote is built for the event, and you get a written proposal with package options before anything is committed.
No setup fees. No screen charges, no digitizing fee, no plate charges. No minimums — one piece or a thousand. Design assistance included, even if all you have is an idea.
Is there a minimum guest count?
No. There is no minimum number of guests to book the hat bar. Cost scales with the size of the event rather than being gated behind a floor.
How far do you travel?
Nationwide. We are based in Avon Lake, Ohio and we travel for events across the country.
How far ahead should we book?
It varies, and it depends on more than the calendar — event size, what you want made, and what else is booked around your date all move it. Ask us early and we will tell you honestly what your date looks like.
One thing worth knowing: a full-capacity event commits our entire press inventory, so we cannot run two of them on the same day. Popular dates go early.
What's included?
Hats are the centre of it, but the same equipment personalizes a great deal more, and at most events we run several of these side by side: shot glasses, stickers, wall art, golf balls, ball markers, lacrosse balls, poker chips, canvas, flasks, leather goods and ornaments.
Designs are applied by UV printing and laser engraving rather than embroidery, which is why fine detail survives — a full-colour logo, a photograph, a signature, all at a size thread cannot hold. Our SolidCore Embroidery™ patches look and feel like stitched work and keep colour and detail that stitching loses.
What do you need from us on the day?
- Space — 200 square feet and up, depending on your guest count.
- Power — at least 20 amps. 50 amps is preferable, and necessary for larger events.
- Cover, if we're outdoors — overhead protection from the elements, or room for us to put up our own tenting.
- Setup time — 3 to 5 hours before doors.
Tell us your venue and guest count and we will confirm exactly what your event needs.
Who books a hat bar?
Four kinds of event, and they want quite different things from us.
- Golf outings — a member gift guests actually keep. Course logo, event date, foursome names, made at the turn or at the nineteenth.
- Weddings and private events — a favour with the couple's monogram or the date on it, made in front of the guest. Works as the late-night station when the dancing thins out.
- Corporate and brand events — branded headwear made on demand at a conference, a launch or a client day. No pre-order, no leftover boxes, no guessing sizes.
- Festivals and fundraisers — a draw that earns its floor space. People queue to watch the press, and the hat leaves the grounds wearing your name.
Where has the hat bar been?
In August 2026 we brought the hat bar to Canton, Ohio for the Drew Brees Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement party — and made hats on site for Drew Brees and seventeen other Pro Football Hall of Famers, eighteen in all, alongside fifteen-plus current and former NFL players.
It is the credential we are proudest of — and the clearest demonstration of what the hat bar actually does. Same wall, same presses, same few minutes, whether the guest is a Hall of Famer or the person behind them in the queue.
Also this season: the Kaulig Companies Championship at Firestone Country Club, and Westfield Country Club.
How many guests can you handle?
Our largest event to date was around 400 guests, run with nine presses and seven staff. That is the ceiling we have proven rather than the ceiling we advertise — if your event is bigger, ask.
