On Wednesday a Kansas City crowd passed a giant inflatable hot dog hand over hand around the stands and, after a few near misses, landed it in a matching inflatable bun. Several thousand people, one shared objective, no practical purpose whatsoever.
Some afternoons deserve a nameplate. This one is a carved leather banner with the city debossed across it.
