On 10 October a pumpkin grown by Ron Wallace was lifted onto the scale at the Southern New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off at Frerichs Farm, outside Warren, Rhode Island. It came in at 3,156 pounds. That is the heaviest pumpkin ever recorded anywhere, and the first one in history over three thousand pounds. It was verified and reported in the days that followed.
What makes it better is that the record had already fallen a week earlier. A grower in the United Kingdom took it on 3 October at 2,856 pounds, and held it for exactly seven days before Rhode Island beat it by three hundred. For scale: the thing outweighs a compact car, and it arrives at a weigh-off on a pallet.

- Patch: scalloped-oval patch in embroidered twill with a merrowed border, the pumpkin worked in three tones of orange with the fill stitch running vertically to follow the ribs, and WARREN RHODE ISLAND and 3156 LB - 2026 lettered around the border. Roughly 2.5 inches finished.
- Cap: Richardson 112 structured trucker — cotton-poly front panel, mesh back, snapback closure. The Dusty Rose/White option is an Infinity Charlie ponytail cap.
- Six colorways: White, Black, Navy/Caramel, Kelly/White, Heather Grey/Black, Dusty Rose/White (Ponytail).
- Made to order. Each patch is stitched and finished when you order it.
