What is the Richardson 228?

A low-crowned performance cap with laser-perforated panels, so air moves through the hat instead of sitting in it. Lower profile than a standard trucker, and built for heat rather than for looks alone.

What is laser perforation?

Small holes cut through the fabric in a pattern, rather than a mesh panel stitched in. The result is a cap that breathes like a mesh back but keeps a single continuous surface — which is also why it photographs cleanly.

Will a patch sit flat on a perforated panel?

Yes. An engraved leather or leatherette patch and SolidCore Embroidery™ both go on it. The perforation gives the panel visible texture behind the design, so bold, simple artwork tends to read better on it than very fine line work.
