Somewhere along the way, the animals got credentials.
There are emotional support dogs. There are emotional support cats, and at least one emotional support miniature horse who has flown commercial. They have vests. They have laminated cards. Some of them have a documented job description more specific than most people's.
Meanwhile the human in the equation — the one who does the 6 a.m. walk in the rain, who has learned to sleep diagonally around forty pounds of dog, who talks in a voice they would not use in front of another adult — gets nothing. No vest. No title. Not so much as a hat.
So we made the hat
The patch shows a dog sitting up very pleased with itself, holding a leash in its mouth. Follow the leash and you find a small, wide-eyed person on the other end, standing there with the expression of someone who understands exactly who is in charge of this walk and has made peace with it.

Why it looks the way it does
We went deliberately retro on this one. Fat rounded 1970s lettering, a cream twill field, a burnt-orange merrowed border and a sunburst behind the dog — the visual language of a summer camp badge or a park ranger patch, which is exactly the register the joke needs. Play it too clean and modern and it reads like a real service-animal credential, which is neither funny nor a thing we want to imitate. Play it like a 1974 scout badge and everyone's in on it immediately.
The Emotional Support Human patch runs about two and a half inches across on a Richardson 112 — structured crown, pre-curved visor, mesh back, snapback. Six colorways, including a ponytail-friendly cut, and every one is made to order with no minimums and no setup fee.
Who it's for
The friend whose entire personality has been quietly replaced by their dog. The person who has said the sentence “he doesn't normally do that” in public more than twice this month. Anyone who has cancelled on a human being because the dog seemed like it wanted company.
Also, honestly: yourself. There is no shame in it. Somebody in that relationship is providing emotional support and the evidence increasingly suggests it is not the one with the vest.
