Tonight the moon slides into Earth's shadow for a deep, 96% partial lunar eclipse — close enough to total that the whole disc glows a dull blood red. Seen from the Seattle waterfront it rises straight up out of the skyline, a genuinely rare sky event over a city that spends most of the year under cloud.
The design: a city skyline engraved into a brushed-metal shield, the eclipsed moon glowing behind the towers, finished with a raised metal border.
