Shanerock raises money to fight pediatric cancer. When they asked us for a hat, we didn't hand them a box of our cheapest caps with a logo stamped on. Anyone can do that. We made a hat people will want for its own sake.
What is the Shanerock hat?
It's a $65 white Richardson 112 trucker, decorated on the front, the bill and the side. A sponsor donates to Shanerock for every hat sold. So you buy a hat you'll actually wear, and the donation happens automatically.
What makes it different from an event giveaway?
The clover. Shanerock's four-heart clover sits on the front with a finish that looks like polished epoxy resin: deep, glassy emerald, with ripples you can see in the light. Look at the center, where the four hearts meet. An intense burst of light shines out from it, the same burst that's in Shanerock's logo. It's the first thing you notice from across the room.

The bill. SHANEROCK is painted into the bill in navy, with small clovers scattered across it. One clover curves over the front edge of the bill, carrying the design right through to the bottom of the hat. That kind of detail is what separates a hat from a souvenir.

The gold ribbon. On the side sits a gold pediatric cancer awareness ribbon, laser cut, with SHANEROCK engraved along it. It's small, but it has real presence. It's the part of the hat that says why it exists.

We brought out a new process to make this hat, and there's a lot of detail in it. That was the point.
Why put this much into a charity hat?
Because the cause deserves it. A donor should get real value back: not a trinket, not just a memory of an event, but a hat that hat lovers will appreciate and want in their collection. When people want the hat in its own right, donating becomes automatic. That's the energy charities need and deserve.
When we work with charities, we bring our A game. We set out to make the most beautiful hats in the world, and a fundraiser is where that matters most.

Where can I get one?
The Shanerock hat will be at the Shanerock Clambake on Saturday, Oct. 17. It's the first of several designs we're making for Shanerock, so there's more to come. Learn more about Shanerock and its work at shanerock.org.
Can guests design their own hat at the clambake?
Yes. The Hat Factory Xpress® hat bar will be at the clambake, our premium service. Guests can put together their own hat or design one from scratch. We build it right there, and they take it home before they leave the event.
Running a fundraiser and want a hat like this for your cause? Tell us about it. We're Laser Focused Xpressions and The Hat Factory Xpress®, in Avon Lake, Ohio, just west of Cleveland.
